Windows 11 Servicing Build 22598.200 (KB5014105) Is Available Now

Windows 11 22H2 is around the corner. Many users want to know the recent news about it. Windows 11 22H2 will be released in the second half of the year 2022, but Microsoft starts preparing for the preview build for this update very early.

The first preview build is Cumulative Update for Windows 11, version 22H2 Insider Preview (10.0.22567.100) (KB5012427), which was released in March. Then, Microsoft keeps releasing Windows 11 preview builds with new features that will be introduced to Windows 11 22H2. However, the names of the preview builds don’t have the words Windows 11 22H2 until Windows 11 22H2 insider preview (10.0.22598.100) (KB5014100). Very soon after the release of this build, Microsoft rolls out another new preview build: Windows 11 KB5014105. The full title of this update is Cumulative Update for Windows 11, version 22H2 Insider Preview (10.0.22598.200) (KB5014105).

According to the announcements from Microsoft, Windows 11 KB5014105 is another Windows 11 servicing pipeline update. It is to test Windows Update channels ahead of the next major update’s preview testing. This update doesn’t have any new features. It is just a cumulative update for testing the servicing pipelines. All the bug fixes and improvements that were introduced in the earlier preview build 22598 are included in Windows 11 KB5014105.

This update is not like the previous pipeline updates, the new feature of File Explorer with tabs is not included in it. In the next part, we will mainly talk about the tabs feature in File Explorer.

File Explorer with tabs Is Not In Windows 11 KB5014105

The feature of File Explorer’s tab was first introduced in Windows 11 preview build 22572. However, Microsoft quickly removed this feature in the new builds like build 22579 or the most recent one build 22598.

Does this mean that Microsoft won’t add this feature in Windows 11 22H2? Not exactly! This new feature is still available in the servicing pipeline update for the Windows 11 preview builds as long as you don’t install Windows 11 KB5014105. Adding tabs to File Explorer is still a plan in 2022. This feature might be released to the public with Windows 11 version 22H2 (Sun Valley 2). Or Microsoft might make it available soon after the release of Windows 11 22H2.
