The Greenliant EnduroSLC SATA NANDrive SSDs have improved data retention and read and write performance by using Greenliant's proprietary EnduroSLC Technology design and Greenliant’s DRAM-less controller and enhanced unexpected power-off data protection.
Introduction of Greenliant EnduroSLC SATA 6 GB/s NANDrive SSD
Greenliant now is giving SATA 6 GB/s NANDrive EX Series ball grid array (BGA) solid state drives (SSDs) samples to customers who want superior data retention and high program-erase (P/E) cycles. SATA 6Gb/s NANDrive EX Series SSDs can achieve 50K, 100K and industry-leading 250K+ P/E cycles with Greenliant’s EnduroSLC™ Technology.
Combined with advanced hardware ECC capabilities and NAND flash management algorithms of the NAND controller, EnduroSLC Technology has enhanced data retention and extended write endurance of 1-bit-per-cell (SLC) SSDs.
SATA 6Gb/s NANDrive features Greenliant’s DRAM-less controller, an algorithmic enhancement of accidental power-down data protection and provides four times the read and write performance of the previous generation SATA NANDrive.
SATA 6Gb/s SSDs support up to 32 commands of Native Command Queuing (NCQ) and use advanced NAND management techniques to optimize the device’s performance over its lifetime.
The SATA 6Gb/s NANDrive EX Series offers higher read/write performance and a wide range of hardware compatible (2 GB – 128 GB) products, ideal for high-performance computing, industrial, transportation, video and networking applications.
SATA NANDrive can withstand harsh environments and it can work in the temperature from -40 to +85 degrees Celsius. It also provides customers with long-life, high-reliability data storage. The NANVR BGA SSD with EnduroSLC Technology can endure several times SMT high-temperature processes without losing data.
Available in a 14mm x 24mm, 145-ball, 1mm pitch BGA package, the SATA NANDrive can be easily, reliably and cost-effectively mounted to the system board. For backward compatibility, SATA NANDrive has the same footprint across all capacities.
Arthur Kroyan, vice president of business development and marketing at Greenliant, said: “Greenliant's NANDrive SSDs have been designed and tested to meet the durability and performance requirements of high-reliability industrial and networking applications. With the introduction of the SATA NANDrive EX series, Greenliant now offers BGA SSDs with the industry's best data retention and endurance enabled by our EnduroSLC Technology. In addition to the advanced features of this new product series, embedded system designers can rely on Greenliant's extensive technical expertise and first-class support – from the design-in process to our Long-Term Availability program.”
Greenliant is providing SLC (1 bit per unit) SATA 6Gb/s NANDrive EX Series SSDs for 50,000, 100,000 and 250,000 erasers for major users on select product engagements, and mass production is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2019. Based on 3D MLC (2 bits per unit), SATA 6Gb/s NANDrive MX Series solid state drives are also expected to be available in early 4th quarter of 2019 and will be mass produced at the end of the fourth quarter of 2019.
Samsung PM1733 PCIe 4.0 SSDs support AMD’s EPYC 7002. It can reach about 5,000 MB/s continuous sequential reads speed and 4,400 MB/s writes speed.
Introduction of NANDrive Products
All NAND flash complexities are managed by NANDrive. And with NANDrive, embedded system designers can quickly integrate large data storage into their designs without the need for firmware modifications. Because of the protocols of the PATA, SATA, and eMMC interfaces that support all standard embedded operating system with NANDrive products, there is no need for designers to spend time and effort on host software revalidation cycles.
NANDrive further simplifies system integration and inventory management by addressing compatibility and obsolescence issues of pairing a standalone NAND controller with new NAND flash devices. By using an integrated multi-chip package technology, when NAND flash technology changes, customers do not need to perform long-term qualification cycles, only need to verify the NANDrive as a mass storage subsystem.
Introduction of EnduroSLC Technology
Greenliant develops 3D NAND management technology - EnduroSLC Technology for high reliability applications requiring extremely long data retention times and ultra-durable temperature in demanding work environments.
SSDs that support EnduroSLC technology enable superior data retention in complex temperature conditions, such as data writing and reading over a wide range of crossover temperatures. With advanced hardware ECC capabilities and NAND management algorithms, EnduroSLC technology can significantly increase the write endurance of SLC-based (1-bit per-cell) NAND SSDs to achieve industry-leading 250,000 or more program-erase (P/E) cycles.
