What Is Lock Screen Background Motion?

Lock Screen Background Motion is a feature in Windows 10 and Windows 11 that adds dynamic lock screen images. When starting your computer, you will get a lock screen. Or when you press Win + L or Windows automatically locks, you also see the lock screen. Then, you can press anywhere here to get a sign-in screen and you are required to enter a password or fingerprint to go to the desktop.

If your device comes with an accelerometer, Windows 10/11 will use it to perform panning motion for the lock screen image. The lock screen will pan around a still image by default when you move your device or change the orientation. If you need, you can choose to prevent Lock Screen Background Motion using a static lock screen background image.
