Intel Announces the Optane Memory H10 SSD at CES 2019
Intel, a very famous multinational corporation and technology company around the world, has shown a kind of new solid-state drive – Intel Optane Memory H10 SSD at the CES 2019.
This Intel H10 SSD combines with the high-performance Optane memory with traditional 3D NAND on a single device which will pair Intel’s 3D XPoint cache with a storage portion of 3D NAND. In this way, it can combine the advantages of the Optane’s super-speed cache with the storage size of the 3D NAND to a single M.2 SSD.
Compared with the traditional 3D NAND memory, the 3D XPoint cache can offer fast speed. However, the price of 3D XPoint cache is too much, so it usually is used as a cache to work alongside other forms of storage devices, such as the 3D NAND flash memory.

You can add responsiveness and capacity to your computer with the intelligent combination of Intel Optane Memory H10 SSD and the 3D NAND storage in one M.2 form factor. However, if there is an existing storage device with the M.2 form factor, you even may need to buy another one. To some extent, it is not convenient.
In addition, this Intel Optane Memory SSD is also good for some mobile devices which often have one M.2 slot and at the high-end filled with PCI-E NVMe SSD. Therefore, you can also combine the Intel Optane Memory H10 SSD and the 3D NAND storage so as to provide fast read and write speed which even can reach up to the speed of Samsung’s 970 Pro SSD.
Intel has announced that the SSD has two separate controllers – Intel Optane Memory SSD and Intel 3D NAND QLC 3D NAND. The Intel Optane Memory enables you to accelerate your PC with breakthrough so that you can search and find files faster and launch applications quickly. And the 3D QLC 3D NAND enables you to get large storage size so that you can save plenty of files into a smaller footprint. It can fit in small spaces with its versatile M.2 form factor designed for mobile devices or desktops.
Besides the fast speed, this Intel Optane Memory H10 SSD also comes in large storage size. And Intel provides three different capacity combinations. They are 16GB + 256GB, 32GB + 512GB, and 32GB + 1TB. The smaller number represents the storage size of Optane Memory and the larger one represents the storage size of 3D QLC NAND flash memory. Intel also claims that the 3D QLC NAND used on this Intel H10 SSD is the same as the one used in Intel SSD 660p.
The QLC SSD also has lots of features, and get more information from our guide on why buy a QLC SSD.
Final Words
In conclusion, you can get the information that Intel has shown the Intel Optane Memory H10 SSD at CES 2019 which has combined the Optane Memory and QLC NAND flash memory so as to offer fast the fast transmission speed and large storage size. And this Intel Optane Memory SSD will be available in the later.
