Windows 10 April 2019 Update is expected to be released this month. Microsoft is still gearing up some test works to make sure its release. Just in last week, it removed another barrier to Windows 10 version 1903 release. Is there any other issue? See this post to see the details.
Microsoft Removed another Barrier to Windows 10 Version 1903 Release
Insiders will Test the Preview Builds before the Release of a New Version
Now, it is April, 2019. Microsoft is busy with the preparation work for the release of Windows 10 April Update version 1903, which is also known as Windows 10 19H1. This version has been test with the Insiders for months to guarantee its normal running.
A Bug Was Found Last Week
Though the release day of Windows 10 April 2019 Update nears, Microsoft still finds a bug which should be removed immediately.
Last week, the company announced that it has removed an upgrade block for devices with games that are running anti-cheat software. This block has been in place since late February and depended on fixes from third-party vendors to solve the issue, and it affected the preview builds from the 19H1 branch.
Dona Sarkar, a Windows Insider lead said like this:
“Many games that use anti-cheat software have released fixes for the issue causing PCs to bug check (GSOD). The upgrade block that prevents Windows Insiders from updating to the latest build will be removed soon.”
Here, Green Screen of Death is an issue which may happen due to other reasons. If this problem makes you lose your important data, you can use the free file recovery tool – MiniTool Power Data Recovery to get them back.
The lift on the block means that users in the slow and fast ring should see 19H1 Build 18362 in Windows Update very soon.
Moreover, Sarkar still noted that the company has also been working on fixing a glitch causing build 18362 to fail to install for some Slow ring users. This issue affected users on build 18356.16 who wanted to update to Build 18362. But, this issue has not been resolved.
For all other Slow ring users, the company has enabled the “seeker” feature and this means that build 18362 will not be downloaded and installed automatically from Windows Update. Instead, users should go to Settings > Update and Security > Windows Update and the choose the “’Check for updates” option to get them manually.
Some Other Issues in the Preview Building
There are some other known issues in this build like problems which can affect Creative X-Fi sound cards. Microsoft said that it is now working with Creative to solve this issue. On the other hand, some Realtek SD card readers aren’t working
Windows 10 version 1903 is expected to be released at this month and it will come as an adoption of the current Windows 10 version 1809 remains uncharacteristically low for the period around a new feature release.
AdDuplex, a Windows-focused ad analytics firm, estimates that Windows 10 version 1809 is installed on just 26 percent of Windows 10 PCs in its survey of 100,000 machines. Most Windows 10 devices are still using Windows 10 version 1803 that was released around this time last year.
Only in the last week, Microsoft announced that Windows 10 1809 is ready for broad deployment due to the early troubles it faced with several serious bugs, and the one that destroyed some users’ files is included.
