Microsoft 10 19H1 Start Menu doesn’t have many changes in the last few versions of Windows operating system. However, some minor refinements have always made their way.

Windows 10 19H1 will be released this year, and there will be some improvements in the Start Menu, including the ability to unpin the grouped tiles.

Indeed, there are some released notes in Windows 19H1 preview builds. Recently, Microsoft revealed that the reliability of Windows 10 19H1 will get better.

If you often check the Task Manager, you can note this process which is named as Windows Shell Experience Host. It is a process which can be used to handle the graphical elements of the key Windows features like the Start Menu, taskbar transparency, flyouts, and so forth.

The Windows Start Menu also uses Windows Shell Experience Host to deal with the graphical interface in different situations. But, from Windows 10 19H1, the Start Menu will be not hosted by Windows Shell Experience Host. Instead, it will use its own process which is called StartMenuExperienceHost.

This decision to separate the Windows Start Menu into its own process is a big deal since it can highly improve its users’ experience and simplify the debugging. At the same time, this design can also improve the launch time and Start will not suspend.

As the maker of the system, Microsoft says it has already seen the noticeable improvements in the Start Menu reliability after carrying out the changes. And the Microsoft company plans to roll it out to its customers with Windows 10 Spring 2019 update.

Start Menu in Windows 10 19H1

There will be one new feature in Windows 19H1 Start Menu. Many of you may even don’t note this new option.

Microsoft recently revealed that the navigation pane in the Start Menu will become auto-expandable. What does this mean? If this new feature is rolled out, you will be able to hover the cursor over that icons like power, documents, pictures, and then the full menus of the icon will show up automatically.

In addition, there will be another change you may be interested in: the ability to unpin a group pinned to the Start. With this feature, you can pin tiles under multiple groups. But, unfortunately there is no chance to unpin the group.

This change will also be launched with Windows 10 version 1903 as Microsoft will make it possible to unpin some applications in the Start Menu immediately by right-clicking a group name.

Similarly, Windows 10 Spring 2019 update also includes some improvements for the Start and Taskbar jump lists to boast Fluent Design.
