MiniTool MovieMaker 5.2 was released on October 27, 2022, with a new crop feature for videos and photos, additional online resources, an updated registration window, and performance improvements.
New Video and Photo Crop Feature
MiniTool MovieMaker 5.2 introduces a new crop feature that allows users to remove unwanted areas from videos and photos while keeping the part they want to highlight.
Users can crop a video clip or photo manually by dragging from any of eight directions: north, northeast, east, southeast, south, southwest, west, and northwest. This provides more control over which part of the media remains visible.
The new version also supports cropping by selecting a preset aspect ratio. Users can choose from six options:
- Original ratio
- 16:9
- 4:3
- 1:1
- 3:4
- 9:16
Preset ratios can be useful when preparing videos or images for different screen orientations and devices, including mobile phones.
New Animated Elements and Audio Resources
MiniTool MovieMaker 5.2 adds 35 animated elements and 7 new songs to its online resource library. Users can download these resources and use them in their video projects.
Among the 35 new animated elements, 22 are related to festivals such as Christmas videos and Thanksgiving clips, giving users more resources for creating holiday-themed videos.
Updated Registration Window
The registration window has also been updated in MiniTool MovieMaker 5.2. The redesigned window provides clearer information about available plans and the registration process, helping users understand their options when activating the software.
Performance Improvements and Bug Fixes
MiniTool MovieMaker 5.2 improves the software’s loading and video exporting performance. The update also includes bug fixes to address issues found in previous versions.
