Enable Mouse Keys Before You Start to Troubleshoot Apple Mouse
You should firstly go to enable the mouse keys on Mac properly. After that, you can start to troubleshoot mouse not working on Mac.
- Press Command + Option + F5 to bring up Accessibility Shortcuts.
- Press the Tab key repeatedly until the Mouse Keys option is highlighted.
- Press Space select and press Esc to save changes.
Apple Mouse Won’t Connected/Pair/Recognized
You must need to connected or pair a Magic Mouse if you want to use it on Mac. But you may fail at this step: your Magic Mouse is not detected/recognized by your Mac. You should do the following things when finding Magic Mouse not connected.
#1. Check Whether the Wireless Mouse Is Turned on or Not
Push the slide switch on the bottom of your Magic Mouse or Magic Mouse 2 to turn on the device.
- The green LED will light up briefly if you’re using Magic Mouse.
- You can see the green color beneath the switch of a Magic Mouse 2.
You can try to turn off the switch, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it on.

#3. Disconnect and Reconnect the Mouse
If you find the Apple wireless mouse not working after you pair it with Mac, please remove it from your Mac. Then, restart the computer and reconnect the mouse to it properly.
#4. Check the Bluetooth Connection
First, you should make sure the Bluetooth is enabled on your Mac: select Apple menu -> choose System Preferences -> click Bluetooth.

- Please try to recharge the Apple mouse. Then, go to check the battery level and replace the battery if necessary.
