How to Fix Dota 2 Lag, Stuttering and FPS Drop Issue on Windows 10/11?
Fix 1: Check Minimum Requirements
First, you should make sure that if your computer meets the minimum system requirements of Dota 2. If your device just barely meets these requirements, it can also cause Dota 2 lag and stuttering issues. It is advisable to have better specs than those we list below.
- OS: Windows 7 or newer
- Memory: 4 GB RAM
- Processor: Dual-core from Intel or AMD at 2.8 GHz
- DirectX: Version 9.0c
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8600/9600GT
- Storage: 15 GB available space
- Sound Card: DirectX Compatible
Fix 2: Update GPU Drivers
It is highly recommended to update all the drivers of your hardware, especially the graphics driver on your computer to rule out driver issues.
If Dota 2 lag issue appears after updating the graphics driver, you need to roll back the driver to the previous version to see if it works.
Step 1. Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
Step 2. Type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter to open Device Manager.
