Though OneDrive is widely used around the world, the OneDrive corrupted files trouble many people. Here you can see a real example:
Whenever I save a file to OneDrive, it gets saved with the same filename but the size becomes 0kb, and is no longer able to be opened. It's not across the board - some folders I save to are fine, and some are not. But this is causing a huge interruption to our work. The file is fine if I save it on my PC, but as soon as I either try to move it or copy it to an Onedrive location there's a 50/50 chance of it being corrupted. Does anyone know what the reason/fix for this is? - AbdulAlsinianswers.microsoft.com
Why Do OneDrive Files Become Corrupted?
In fact, OneDrive will not corrupt files automatically by itself. There are generally three reasons:
- Software problem: If OneDrive is corrupted, files and other data you stored in it might corrupted as well.
- Virus or malware attacks: Same as a computer being infected by viruses, OneDrive failure or files corrupted may also caused by the same reason.
- Slow Internet connection: What if your internet connection is interrupted when you are syncing files to OneDrive? Files may be corrupted or failed to open.
