Preview on Windows 10 October 2018 Update
Firstly, let’s go to back to 2015 when Windows 10 was unveiled by Microsoft. At that time, the Microsoft Company announced that it would release the major update of Windows 10 twice a year. Then, the year 2018 become quite a troublesome period for Windows 10 as a Service concept.
After the release of Windows 10 October 2018 Update, many users chose to download and install this new Windows 10 version. However, the automatic file deletion issue happened. This issue was serious enough that Microsoft rolled back this update and began to fix this issue as well as some other reported problems.
Then, in November 2018, Windows 10 October 2018 Update was re-released.
Now, do you think Windows 10 can run without any issue? Not really, and it is not realistic.
According to some reports, new Issues in Windows 10 October 2018 Update are reported. These two issues are invalidation of built-in administrator and FLAC implementation in Windows 10.
Now, we will show you these two issues in detail in the following contents.
Invalidation of Built-in Administrator
Windows 10 version 1809 update may disable the built-in administrator, and this problem is reportedly happened under the following two conditions:
- The built-in administrator account is valid
- The other accounts that have got the permission of administrator.
Microsoft has confirmed this issue and it promises that it will release a patch in late January 2019 to solve this issue.
Besides, Microsoft suggests its users to sign in by using the user administrative privileges but not the built-in administrator if they need to update Windows 10 before releasing the patch.
When the machine has already been updated to the latest Windows 10 version and the built-in administrator is already invalidated, users will then sign in with administrator privileges. In this situation, Microsoft recommends to activate the built-in administrator manually.
FLAC Support Issue
Windows 10 supplies its users with a full quality of uncompressed music playback with the native FLAC support. However, the FLAC implementation is broken in Windows 10 version 1809. Due to this reason, the meta-data of the music files are getting decollated which can lead to unexpected issues.
For instance, the long names of the music tracks as well as the details of other music are cut off.
However, the above result is not the serious result. The more frustrating issue is that when the tracks are arranged in a playlist, the first minute of the track will be skipped. Even worse, the short tracks will be skipped completely. Till now, this issue happens in both Groove Music and Windows Media Player.
This issue has not been acknowledged by Microsoft in Windows 10 update history page, but it has been addressed in Windows 10 19H1.
