In general, you need to reinstall your system to move between Insider Program channels. Luckily, there’s an option in Settings to switch between them quickly for a short time. You can select it from the drop-down menu available in the Windows Insider Program settings. However, it’s not showing up on some users’ PCs. How to make it appear?

  1. Open the search feature by clicking on the search bar in the taskbar or pressing Windows + S.
  2. Type cmd into the textbox. Then, the Command Prompt will appear.

One: change Registry values.

  1. Run Registry Editor as administrator.
  2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost\Applicability.
  3. Complete the registry tweaks: BranchName (Type REG_SZ = String) = “Dev”, Ring (Type REG_SZ = String) = “External”, and ContentType (Type REG_SZ = String) = “Mainline”.
