How to Fix the Out of Video Memory Error in Stellar Blade

Fix 1. Increase Virtual Memory

Sometimes, the error appears only because your computer runs out of memory when trying to load the game. In this case, you can try increasing the virtual memory to fix the problem.

Step 1. Search for the Control Panel and open it. Make sure the items are displayed by category.

Step 2. Navigate to System and Security > System. In the new window, click Advanced system settings.

Step 3. Under Advanced, click Settings in the Performance section. Next, go to the Advanced tab and hit Change.

Step 4. Untick the option of Automatically manage paging file size for all drives. Select the drive you want to edit the paging file size for, and choose Custom size.

Set the Initial size to about 1.5 times your physical RAM (in MB). Set the Maximum size to about 3 times your physical RAM.

Step 5. Click OK to save the change. Then, restart your computer and the game and check whether the error disappears.

Fix 2. Change Graphics Performance Preference

By default, Windows may let the system decide which GPU to use for each app. Manually setting the game to run with the high-performance GPU can help resolve the out-of-memory error.

Step 1. Press Windows + I to open Settings.

Step 2. In the Display section, click Graphics settings.

Step 3. Click Browse and choose the SB.exe file of Stellar Blade. If you do not know where it is, right-click Stellar Blade in Steam Library and choose Properties. Go to the Installed Files tab and click Browse.

Step 4. Click the game file from the list, choose Options, select High performance, and click Save.

For Discord:

Click the Gear icon to access Discord settings. Next, go to the Overlay tab and turn off Enable in-game overlay.

For NVIDIA:

Launch NVIDIA GeForce Experience and log into your NVIDIA account. In the GENERAL tab, turn off IN-GAME OVERLAY.

Fix 5. Update BIOS

For all Intel Core 13th/14th Generation Desktop Processor users, updating the BIOS is necessary due to a known BIOS issue affecting stability.

To protect your system and keep your files safe, back up your system/data using the built-in Windows Backup & Restore tool or third-party software like MiniTool ShadowMaker. Also, make sure your computer has a stable power supply during the BIOS update.
