A New Setting in Windows Troubleshooter

There will be a new recommended Troubleshooting setting in Windows. It can automatically fix some certain types of critical problems on your Windows machine. If you want to access this setting, please go to Start > Settings > Privacy > Diagnostics & Feedback.

At present, there are three available options: Fix problems for me without asking, Tell me when problems get fixed and Ask me before fixing problems.

The following Windows 10 Troubleshooting setting can let you know more information about it:

“Microsoft automatically fixes certain critical problems on your device to keep it running smoothly. We may also recommend troubleshooting for other problems we think will improve your experience. How much do you want Microsoft to help when we find other issues on your that we might be able to fix?”

With the new Windows 10 Troubleshooter, you will be able to get more suggestions and you can use them to fix your issue if you allow them to act.

How does it work?

For instance, when you choose the first option, Windows will use the general solutions like restoring the default settings of certain services and apps to automatically fix the found issue.

When choosing the second or third option, Windows will show you many suggestions which are helpful to address the issues and then a manual operation will be required. By doing this, Windows system may require you to turn off a setting to prevent an app from crashing unexpectedly, or restore default app settings.

Windows can also show you a notification which can remind you to solve the issues by following the suggestions which are listed in the Troubleshooting page. When you press the notification, you can open the setting page where you can choose whether to run the recommended troubleshooter.

This option can be disabled in Windows 10 19H1 and you can even quit the recommended troubleshooting with only one tap.
