WD Blue 4TB 3D NAND SATA SSD is a new added product in the Blue 3D series SSD. Likewise, it has excellent features which can attract many users. In this post, we will show you some information about this drive.
WD Blue 4TB 3D NAND SATA SSD Is Available
Western Digital is a leader manufacturer in the field of hard disk drive and digital data storage. Recently, it adds a new product in Blue 3D series SSD.
According to latest listing from the retailer eD system, the company has doubled the highest capacity of WD Blue 3D NAND SATA SSD from 2TB to 4TB. Due to this, Western Digital joins the ranks of Samsung which is the only SSD manufacturer to supply 4TB consumer SSDs until now.

Now, let’s have a look at this new WD Blue 4TB 3D NAND SATA SSD.
About WD Blue 4TB 3D NAND SATA SSD
If you want to get high performance computing, you can choose to use WD Blue 3D NAND SATA SSD which can supply you with high capacity, enhanced reliability, and blazing speed.
High Capacity with Enhanced Reliability
The WD Blue 3D NAND SATA SSD is using 3D NAND technology. And this technology enables it to have higher capacities (up to 4TB till now) than the previous generation WD Blue SSDs and reduce cell-to-cell interference for enhanced reliability.
Enhanced Power Efficiency
The drive can offer improved endurance and features an active power draw up to 25% lower than previous WD Blue SSDs. With less power used, you can work with the drive for longer time befor recharging your PC.
Superior Performance for High-end Computing
If you are using high-end computing applications like gaming, HD media playback, or creative software, this WD Blue 3D NAND SATA SSD can be your good option.
Its 3D NAND technology enables the drive’s sequential read speeds reach up to 560MB/s and sequential write speeds reach up to 530MB/s. Using this drive, you can enjoy fast system boot-ups speeds, quick application responses, and rapid digital data transfer speeds.
The following table will show you the sequential read/write speeds, random read/write speeds and endurance of all capacities in WD Blue 3D series.
Product | Sequential Read Speed | Sequential Write Speed | Random Read | Random Write | Endurance |
WD Blue 3D 4TB SSD | 560 MB/s | 530 MB/s | 95,000 IOPS | 82,000 IOPS | 600 TBW |
WD Blue 3D 2TB SSD | 560 MB/s | 530 MB/s | 95,000 IOPS | 84,000 IOPS | 500 TBW |
WD Blue 3D 1TB SSD | 560 MB/s | 530 MB/s | 95,000 IOPS | 84,000 IOPS | 400 TBW |
WD Blue 3D 500GB SSD | 560 MB/s | 530 MB/s | 95,000 IOPS | 84,000 IOPS | 200 TBW |
WD Blue 3D 250GB SSD | 560 MB/s | 525 MB/s | 95,000 IOPS | 81,000 IOPS | 100 TBW |
The WD Blue 4TB 3D NAND SATA SSD should have the part number of WDS400T2B0A and feature the same Marvell 88SS1074 controller and SanDisk’s 64-layer 3D TLC (triple-level cell) NAND flash chips with other capacities of Blue 3D series SSDs.
The previous flagship 2TB variant drive was available in the traditional 2.5-inch and M.2 2280 formats. But, it is not sure that whether this new 4TB drive will follow suit. At the meantime, this new drive is designed with the 2.5-inch form factor with a thickness of 7mm and it can run off a SATA III connector.
