What’s next in Windows 10? Let’s see some details.
Windows 10 20H2 Update
The first test build 19042.330 of Windows 10 20H2 has been released to the Beta Channel (formerly Slow Ring) of the Windows Insider program on June 16. Like other minor Windows 10 update, there are only some small improvements and bug fixes. This update will be released between September 2020 and November 2020 according to some rumors.
Besides, Windows 10 versions will no longer use the actual numbers like Windows 10 version 2009. It will use Windows 10 version 20H2 and October 2020 Update. Windows 10 20H2 will be the first Windows 10 version to ship with the Chromium-based Edge.
Windows 10 21H1 Update
The Windows 10 21H1 update will be a feature update with new features and changes. The build 20150 has been released to the Dev Channel (formerly Fast Ring) of the Windows Insider program. But, Microsoft has said that there are no relations between the Dev Channels and the Windows 10 feature updates.
This means that the features in the Dev Channel preview builds may or may not be included in Windows 10 21H1. This Windows 10 feature update is expected to be released between March 2021 and May 2021.
New Features and UI Changes
Microsoft is currently working on some improvements and features. These new features may or may not appear in Windows 10 21H1 update. Microsoft is said to be internally working on a number of improvements and features that may or may not show up in Windows 10 21H1 (Spring 2020 Update).
For example, Hide_System_Control_Panel and SystemToAboutSettingsSearchRemoval are mentioned in the preview builds of Windows 10.
It seems that Microsoft is going to hide the System area of Control Panel, allowing you to see the basic device information like the activation status, processor, memory, and storage.
Modern_Disk_Management_Link is also mentioned in the preview builds of Windows 10 at the earlier time of this year. This means that Windows 10 may have a new app to manage the disk partitions.
Start Menu
The Windows 10 Start Menu is also under development. Recently, Microsoft said that it is working on redesigning the Start Menu. The appearance of the Start Menu will be simpler. The Live Tiles will still work for some apps like Weather.
Modern File Explorer in Windows 10X
There will be a new File Explorer in Windows 10X that will first be available on traditional clamshell laptops. This new and modern File Explorer has the OneDrive integration feature and it enables you to browse your local files.
