Windows 10 May 2020 Update New Issues and Bugs

For example, in the support document from Microsoft, it confirmed that External display goes black when you try to draw using an app on Windows 10 version 2004. According to the official statement, this issue is caused by the errors in Device Manager and Microsoft is planning to fix it in a future version of Windows 10.

On the other hand, Lenovo also reported a lot of issues that exist in Windows 10 May 2020 Update. Some issues can be fixed by using some simple methods. While others should be solved by rolling back Windows 10 to the previous version or waiting for the official solutions from Microsoft.

Synaptics ThinkPad UltraNav Driver Issue

This issue has been reported by Lenovo. This issue occurs when you use the system recovery feature of Windows 10 but only receive an error message saying Failed to load Apoint.DLL, Alps Pointing device application has stopped.

There is a method to fix this issue: update the device driver. Here are the things you should do:

1. Click Windows search and type device manager.
2. Select the first search result to open Device Manager.
3. Expand the Mice and other pointing devices
4. Right-click Think UltraNav device and select Update driver.
5. Follow the wizard to update the device driver.
6. Reboot your computer.

Yellow Warning Mark on the Hard Drive

After upgrading to Windows 10 20H1, you may discover that there is a yellow warning mark on your computer hard drive with BitLocker. Don’t worry. This issue can be fixed. Here is a guide:

1. Right-click on the hard drive that is shown with a yellow warning mark.
2. Turn on Bitlocker and then turn it off.

However, if you don’t use BitLocker, you will need to go to Settings > Update & Security > Device encryption to disable this feature.

Movies & TV app

F11 Hotkey Not Working

Blue Screen of Death is a very common issue that occurs after installing the Windows 10 20H1. Till now, there is no effective solution to this issue. Lenovo suggests rolling back to Windows 10 version 1909 or even older to get rid of this issue.
