MiniTool ShadowMaker 4.0 features a redesigned interface with a dark background and a new navigation layout.
The ribbon menu has been moved from the top of the application to the left side, providing a navigation structure that is more consistent with common Windows usage. The overall interface has also been streamlined for a cleaner layout.
Improved Homepage Layout
The homepage has been reorganized to make important backup information and actions easier to access.
The upper section now contains two panels. The right panel displays system information by default, while the left panel shows the backup source. Users can select a drive to view details such as its file system, capacity, used space, and available space.
The lower section contains three panels:
- The left panel displays the most recent backup task and provides direct access to the Backup page.
- The middle panel lets users start a new backup task with Back Up Now.
- The right panel displays the number of drive backup images and file backup images and provides a Restore Now option for accessing the Restore page.
This layout brings frequently used backup and restore actions together on the homepage, reducing the steps required to start a task or manage an existing one.
Bug Fixes and Other Improvements
MiniTool ShadowMaker 4.0 also includes several bug fixes related to restored images, sync source editing, and scheduled backup settings.
The update fixes issues where:
- Restored image files could not be opened successfully.
- A single file could not be selected when editing a sync source.
- Selected options in Schedule Settings could not be retained.
These fixes further improve the functionality of the updated backup software.
