Introduction to The Last of Us
The Last of Us is an action-adventure game played from a third-person perspective. This game is developed by Naughty Dog and was initially released in 2013 on PS3 by Sony Computer Entertainment.
In the game, the player takes control of Joel, a man tasked with escorting a young girl, Ellie, across the United States and defending against cannibalistic creatures infected by a mutated strain of the Cordyceps fungus.
The game also has an online multiplayer mode, called Factions, allowing up to eight players to engage in competitive gameplay in rearranged versions of multiple single-player settings.
Once the game was released, it received critical acclaim, with praise for its narrative, gameplay, visuals, sound design, score, characterization, and depiction of female characters.
Therefore, Naughty Dog released The Last of Us Remastered for the PlayStation 4 in July 2014. Then, it released The Last of Us 2, a sequel to The Last of Us, for PS4 in 2020. In addition, it also released a remake of The Last of Us - The Last of Us Part 1 - for PlayStation 5 in September 2022.

Will there be a Last of Us Part 3?
The Last of Us series has a massive fan base and its sales are off the charts. In addition, The Last of Us Part 2 has left a lot of critical questions lurking everywhere. Therefore, getting Part 3 of the series is an inevitable reality. According to some reports, Part 3 is in the early pre-production stages and the script has undergone completion to some extent.
The Last of Us Remastered vs The Last of Us Remake
In general, a remastered version of a game just optimizes the game in the frame rate, texture clarity, and UI, but it uses the previous engine still.
However, a remake version will only retain the original story content and character design and then remake the entire game. It will use a brand-new engine and remake the main visual, art, and even the core gameplay. Its workload is almost equivalent to redeveloping a new game.
Compared to the original The Last of Us version, The Last of Us Part 1 (the remake version) has 3 main changes:
#1. Better visual quality
Textures are much more hi-res, shadows are not as muddy, the resolution is much higher, and the frame rate is at a smooth 60 fps. For example, the faces of the characters look much more realistic and detailed. In addition, the PS5 is capable of dynamic lighting and shadows, letting everything look richer, more realistic, and more impressive.
#2. Optimized gameplay
Moving and shooting are a hybrid between the original and Part 2. The level design has been changed at points. More destruction is introduced into the environmental reaction. In addition, the giraffe haptics feature of the DualSense has been implemented in Part 1, including adaptive triggers while shooting and haptics in specific sequences.
#3. More advanced accessibility options
New colorblind modes, audio description, navigation assistance, alternative control schemes, and more are included in Part 1.

The Last of Us Part 1 vs The Last of Us Part 2
Because The Last of Us Part 1 and The Last of Us Part 2 are both games released in the 20s, their technologies are almost the same. Therefore, their visual effects and character action effects are on the same level. Their difference lies in the game story and gameplay.
#1. Game Story
The game story of the original The Last of Us is so excellent that it was remade into a TV series. The Last of Us Part 1 keeps the original story. As for the game story of The Last of Us Part 2, many people think it seems haphazard at times and the pacing is also weak, but it is still an enjoyable experience.
As mentioned above, the gameplay of The Last of Us Part 1 is a hybrid between the original and Part 2. The core gameplay is not changed much. Therefore, the gameplay of The Last of Us Part 1 is outdated in some aspects.
