Setup Your Drive
Actually, the setup process of Kingston DataTraveler Bolt Duo can’t be easier. You only need to do 2 things:
- Plug the drive into your Apple device (iPhone or iPad).
- Follow the prompts to install the app from App Store.
Three options and the capacity of your Bolt Duo will appear once the installation is finished. The options are:
- Transfer: transfer photos/videos to this portable drive.
- Capture: shoot photos/videos by using the device’s camera & microphone and save them here directly.
- View: look through the contents of this drive on your Apple device.
You have to allow the app to access DataTraveler Bolt Duo each time when you plug it into an Apple device. Beside, you also need to allow the access to the camera and/or microphone of Apple device once you plan to capture images or videos to the Bolt.
Start Using the Bolt
As for file transfer, you have many choices:
- Transfer all photos and videos
- Transfer only photos or only videos
- Transfer only the items in a Favorites album
- Transfer certain images or videos you have selected
You have more rights over Bolt: you can choose to delete everything on the iPad/iPhone or keep them all as they copy.
You’ll find it’s a pretty easy task to take photos with the app after agreeing the access to the camera and microphone. You are allowed to take regular photos, square photos and videos with the portable drive plugged in. And all these files will be saved to a new album called Bolt Camera.
