If you buy MMD, you will get Microsoft 365 Enterprise which is the combination of Windows 10 Enterprise, Office 365 and Enterprise Mobility as well as Security.

It is prepared to run on Windows 10 machines which can meet the Microsoft’s MMD specification and runtime quality bar.

In the beginning, the qualifying machines will be Surface PCs only. However, in the coming months, more and more devices will be qualified, such as HP, DELL, and more. Their manufactures will be offered as options as long as they can meet the criteria of Microsoft.

The Redmond giant says that the Microsoft MMD service will help the customers to pay more attention to its core and “drive more business value” by getting rid of the trouble of managing systems and keeping them up to date.

It also said that it took MMD as a test among some early customers that led to learnings that led to changes in Microsoft 365 to “better enable end-to-end scenarios for customers around the world”.

It is said that this MMD service will be available in Canada, Australia and New Zealand in the early 2019. And then, the service range will be wider and wider with time goes by. If you are interested in MMD, you can contact your local account managers for more detailed information.

At first, Microsoft will sell MMD service by itself. But, it plan to cooperate with the reseller or integrator partners then.

If your company chooses to use MMD, you can then take the computer out of the package, enter the credentials, and make the device automatically populate with preset security, management policies and required company apps.

In theory, there will be no need to ask IT person for help to make the setup and process deployment. Instead, Microsoft will take over these tasks.
