Western Digital has announced the Western Digital Ultrastar DC SN630 NVMe SSD and the Western Digital CL SN720 NVMe SSD. Both of these two Western Digital NVMe SSDs comes in large hard drive capacity and we will show some detailed specifications of these SSDs in the following part.
Western Digital Has Introduced Two New Enterprise NVMe SSDs
Western Digital is a very famous storage device manufacturer in the world. And recently, it has launched two kinds of new solid-state drives which can meet the demands of public or private cloud deployments, hyperscale cloud environments and workloads at the edge.
And these two Western Digital NVMe SSDs are the Western Digital Ultrastar DC SN630 NVMe SSD and Western Digital CL SN720 NVMe SSD. Both of them come in large hard drive capacity and we will list some specifications of them in the following part respectively.
Western Digital Ultrastar DC SN630 NVMe SSD
First of all, let‘s look at the Western Digital Ultrastar DC SN630 NVMe SSD. It is a 2.5-inch small form factor enterprise-grade NVMe SSD optimized for cloud storage. Its hard drive capacity can reach up to 7.68TB. With so large storage size, users can choose to back up files to this SSD.
Its interface is the PCIe Gen 3×4 interface. And for the performance of the 7.68TB model of the Western Digital Ultrastar DC SN630 NVMe SSD, the sequential read and write speed can reach up to 2620MB/s and 1290MB/s. However, one thing you must know is that the read and write performance may vary depending on the actual environment, motherboard or other factors.

And its random read and write IOPS of this Western Digital NVMe SSD can reach up to 363,750 IOPS and 54,490 IOPS. Western Digital claims that this SSD delivers more than three times the IOPS for the mixed workloads than the legacy SATA drives.
The Ultrastar DC SN630 NVMe SSD is built on Western Digital’s in-house controller and firmware technology and utilizes our own 64-layer BiCS3 3D NAND rather than the slower legacy SATA interface, which allows Western Digital to tightly control all design aspects and consistently deliver low latency and high performance.
The Western Digital Ultrastar DC SN630 SSD can protect your data by providing data protection, proprietary wear leveling algorithms, and power loss protection required demanding enterprise environment.
