Google Home is one of the Apps available on Google Play. It refers to a series of speakers used to help you set up and control devices: Google Nest (previously named Google Home), Chromecast devices, etc. However, you may receive the Could not communicate with your Google Home error when trying to perform some actions via voice commands.

Google Home is useful and convenient; it can help you do a lot of things through only voice commands. With a Google Home device, you can do almost anything by speaking out commands directly to the Voice Assistant. Of course, a proper internet connection is essential. Google Home makes it’s easy to turn On/Off lights, play music, things like that.

Error: Could Not Communicate with Your Google Home or Google Home Mini

However, lots of users have the same problem: they get the Could not communicate with your Google Home or Could not communicate with your Google Home Mini error, which stops them from doing what they want through the network. Here are 2 cases we found in Google Nest Help Community.

Case 1: Can't connect to speaker when trying to change WiFi.

I'm following the guidance on changing the Wifi to a closer hub (in an attempt to reduce stuttering when playing back music). I disconnected from one WiFi, but now I can't connect to the new one (an extender). I get the message ‘Could not communicate with your Google Home’ - see image. I guess the problem is I have not entered the WiFi password - but where and when do I enter that?
