You can use Registry Editor to prevent your Windows computer from automatically updating Google Chrome. Follow the steps below.

Tip: Before you edit the registry, it’s advised you make a backup of current Windows registry in case something goes wrong. Learn how to backup and restore registry.

Step 1. Press Windows + R keyboard shortcut to open Run dialog. Type regedit in Run dialog, and press Enter to open Registry Editor on Windows 10.
