The “Windows 10 is bobbins” news came at the last month of the year 2018. After that, people witness a quiet few days. There is only very little movement in the new things included in the latest release of Windows 10 update.
Till now, Microsoft has released a lot of versions of update for Windows 10. While some of you are enjoying the new features included in your Windows 10 update, some others are troubled by the Windows 10 update debacle. Now, please allow me to bring you more details on this topic.
Windows 10 Update Debacle Is Affecting Cisco and Morphisec Endpoints
To tell the truth, there are mainly two Endpoint security modules which have close contact with Windows:
- One is Cisco’s AMP for Endpoints.
- The other is the Protector of Morphisec.
The bad news is that the Windows 10 debacle is screwing with these modules. As a result, the users of Morphisec and AMP for Endpoints are both blocked from installing the dreaded Build 1809 (the Windows 10 October 2018 Update).
Groups of People Affected by Win10 Debacle
The number of users who have been affected by the Windows 10 update debacle will be ever-widening; they can be divided into the following categories:
- All the HP users
- Users of AMD chip
- Users of Intel audio drivers
- People who have a small hard drive
- All the Universal Windows apps users
- Users of some Trend Micro security software
- People who are using VPNs from F5
- People who have NAS or other network connected drive
- People who use ZIP files (this one is said to be fixed)
- Anyone who are using iTunes and iCloud (this one is said to be fixed)
Guess you may be interested in the NAS HDD recovery:
Most people haven’t heard of or just know little about Seagate 8TB NAS HDD, so we plan to talk about it and the corresponding data recovery.
As a result, you are not suggested to install Windows 10 October 2018 Update (the build 1809) unless you are pretty sure what you want and what you are going to face.
It’s not right to suggest anyone installs the update especially when you notice the fact that damages have been made by Microsoft and many people don’t want to trust Windows anymore.
What depressing news it is while this Windows 10 update is expected to become the dominant desktop operating system within weeks by a large number of people.
How to Deal with Windows 10 Build 1809 Debacle
Does this mean that we should give up on the build 1809 completely? Of course not! Actually, you can still run the Windows 10 October 2018 Update after uninstalling all the relevant software.
But you have to be well prepared since such level of heavy-duty security is going to occur on your Windows 10 system due to a certain reason.
To tell the truth, removing the relevant software is not effective all the time. Sometimes, you may find yourself can’t save Office files successfully.
Big Additions in Build 1809
One of the important changes in the build 1809 is that – it allows you to connect the Your Phone app to any Android devices and then share SMS and photos with them.
Yet, I don’t advise you to take the risk of installing new update until the mess is fixed properly.
Please note that: in general, Windows 10 will check for the latest updates & security features for you periodically; besides, it will install the updates and features for you automatically in order to make sure that your device runs smoothly and securely.
To ignore the build 1809, you should turn off the Windows Update manually:
- Open Control Panel by the way you like.
- Choose to view by Small icons.
- Select Administrative Tools.
- Double click on Services.
- Scroll down to find Windows Update.
- Right click on Windows Update and choose Properties.
- Change the Startup type to Disabled.
- Click on the OK button to confirm.
