Windows 11 Build 22610 Is Available Now!
Microsoft is releasing Windows 11 build 22610 to Insiders in the Dev and Beta Channels. It is not a big update for Windows 11. So there aren’t so many new features in it. But this build contains a long list of fixes that can help you solve your issues and improve your experience.
New in Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22610
# New MDM and Group Policies for IT Administrators
Microsoft introduces new policies for IT administrators. With these new policies, they can simplify their Windows 11 experience across Start, taskbar, and the system tray. These are the available policies included in this build:
- Disabling Quick Settings flyout.
- Disabling Notification Center and calendar flyouts.
- Disabling all taskbar settings.
- Disabling search (across Start & taskbar).
- Hiding Task View from taskbar.
- Blocking customization of “Pinned” in Start.
- Hiding “Recommended” in Start.
- Disabling Start context menus.
- Hiding “All apps” in Start.
You can go to the Group Policy Editor > User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu and Taskbar to configure these new group policies locally.

# Updated Family Safety Widget
Microsoft also updates the Family Safety Widget. It has a new location sharing view that displays where your family members are using the Family Safety app. Besides, people in a member role now include an improved view of the screen time use across apps and devices. You can report your issue under Desktop Environment > Widgets.
Changes and Improvements in Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22610
- Microsoft has updated the battery icon on the lock screen to make it to be consistent with the one in the taskbar.
- Microsoft has removed the evaluation copy watermark at the lower-right corner of the desktop. But this feature will return to Insiders in a future build.
- The tablet-optimized taskbar, which was firstly introduced in Windows 11 Build 22563, is now disabled at the request of Windows Insiders.
- The Processes page in Task Manager has also been updated. Now the colors in the heatmap are based on your accent color.
- Microsoft also updated icons for rename, properties, and optimize in the context menu and command bar.
Fixes in Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22610
- Fixed error code 0xc8000402 when Windows 10 Insiders were trying to join the Dev or Beta Channels and download the latest Windows 11 Insider build. If you are bothered by this issue, you can install KB5011831 and then download the latest build from either the Dev or Beta Channels again.
- Fixed explorer.exe crashes repeatedly in a loop in the latest builds.
- Fixed mmc cannot initialize the snap-in error on ARM64 in some cases when using Group Policy Editor.

How to Get Windows 11 Build 22610?
You can get this build via Windows Update and it is titled Windows 11 Insider Preview 22610.1 (ni_release) there.
Step 1: Check if your computer can run Windows 11.
Step 2: Join the Windows Insider Program and select the Dev Channel or the Beta Channel according to your requirement.
Step 3: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
Step 4: Click Check for updates.
Step 5: Click Download & install.
Step 6: Restart your computer.
